What training do your counsellors have?


All the Counsellors who work for Employee Counselling Service are employed by the organisation (rather than being self-employed Associates).  We believe this makes Employee Counselling Service accountable for their work.  They have all been accredited by reputable a training organisation usually in the voluntary sector.  Many now also have an academic qualification at post graduate level (though this is a relatively recent option). 

Before being recruited by Employee Counselling Service a counsellor will have had a minimum of two years training and a further two years supervised counselling practice.  They will be able to work across the broad range of issues that employees bring to our service and they will have worked in jobs other than counselling.

Our counsellors are mature, experienced individuals who have a realistic understanding of the world of work.
