Is the service confidential?
When an employee contacts the helpline they will be asked who their employer is, but no other information is required. The call is anonymous. We can tell the employer how many of their employees contacted the helpline, but not who they were.
If an employee makes a self referral for structured counselling the only information that goes back to the employer is general and intended to give them a broad understanding of how the service is being used. Unless we have the explicit instruction from an employee we would not reveal their use of the counselling service. If the appointment has been made by the employer we will confirm attendance, but not reveal anything that was discussed in counselling.
Our Counsellors are all members of their professional bodies that require them to agree with each client the level of confidentiality to be provided.
